This might sound kinda dumb, but, what is sweeps? As in May sweeps. I've heard it, and always wondered what it was. The blind item (that could possibly be Dair), is during may sweeps. So when exactly is that?

Not dumb at all. I didn’t get it either at all until I heard the Lost producers explain it once in a Lost podcast. The way I understand it, sweeps are particular periods in the USA where Nielsen - a company which analyses TV show ratings - focus their data collection on viewing figures for TV shows. Because of that, shows often try to put exciting things in the episodes that air around the time of sweeps, so that lots of people will tune in. The May ones will be from around the 20th April to the 20th May, from what I can gather :) Hope that helps!
