The slight problem with your first statement is that Dan said that all the way back in Season 1. If you honestly think that over the course of five years a person can’t change an opinion they formed based on an initial judgement, then I think that’s a real shame. Dan even changes that opinion a little within the same episode that he says those words.

As for the second part of what you said, I’ll leave Blair to make my argument for me:

Blair: You might not be aware of this but it’s not all light and bright in here. There’s some places devoid of even a hint of sparkle.
Cyrus: Louis will love those too, one would hope.
Blair: Chuck was the only one who ever did, but he couldn’t see the rest.

Blair: Dan loves me for me.
