Momentary Thing

Blair: Oh, picking up a late lunch for Epperly?Dan: No, actually, it’s for you. Don’t worry, it’s not poisoned. I wouldn’t want to win due to my rival’s starvation, and I figured you were too much of a food snob to deign to eat at the commissary.

I loved this little moment because it said everything about their friendship in the early stages. Even though they were competing with each other at the time, Dan was still considerate and gentleman-ly enough to get her lunch because he knew Blair so well: about her being such a food snob and exactly what kind of lunch she liked, and he genuinely didn’t want her to go hungry. And I love how Blair was at first uncertain about this because for her entire life, she has never been used to people doing nice gestures without strings attached or an agenda behind it. And Blair immediately cancelling her sabotage plan showed that behind that false ice-queen exterior, she really does have a good heart and that she actually let her guard down very easily when it came to Dan and his simple gesture.

Audience member: Do you have any bands or musicians that have motivated you in acting?
Liz: I am definitely a 60’s and 70’s rock girl. For Juliet, I listened to some really rough stuff for her I probably shouldn’t say. She’s so chaotic that I need that crazy music. I listened to a lot of Nine Inch Nails with her. With Sawyer I listened to country music! I told him and he was like good little bird! He’d come into my trailer with his jeans and no shirt and I’d say honey this is wasted on me (laughs). And Josh would say alright little bird let’s sing!
Jo: He called you little bird?
Liz: Yeah because my voice is so high. x

badgley-love replied to your post: If you heard that Nate and Penelope were going to be dating in Season 6, would you watch then?

Ohh I swear if Nate dates Penelope then we know she’s Gossip Girl lol I still wouldn’t tune in but I’d Youtube it :)

LOL! Yes, me too. I’d love to see some Nate/Penelope action. Mostly because the poor girl has been crushing on him since Season 2 and she’s pretty much the only one who hasn’t slept with him :P

I equally love this and hate this. Love it: it vindicates everything we have been saying since the finale aired. Hate it: “their hearts are as empty as their words”=Nooooooo! It’s not true!! Just the zombie versions of themselves from 5x24!

Well, yes, I kind of saw that more as pertaining to the characters the way the writers have written them in the finale. I think they’ve shown a lot of heart in past episodes, but the finale left me with such an awful bitter taste in my mouth.

She looks almost like she’s impressed by him. And I love how they filmed this because even though they were all standing in a circle they filmed it so it looks like Dan was shoving Chuck away from Blair. ;)
I think this is weirdly what Blair wants. For someone to literally fight for her. I think Dan should just go ahead and punch Chuck next season in front of Blair.

With the terrible writing that goes on in this show who even knows if this is still true, but I think Blair is very attracted to men who are willing to stand up for people they care about. She has the look above on her face when she sees Dan standing up for Jenny, and then in the cotillion episode she finally ends up sleeping with Nate after telling him how much she loved it when he went after Carter for thinking she and Carter were having an affair.
Maybe in the end it counted against Dan that he didn’t really have a tendency to fight for Blair, although I think that was only because he spent a long time thinking they’d never be together and even when they were he could barely believe it. But then again I still don’t see how Chuck fought for her at all either.

myshipsdontlie asked: "I actually saw somebody say that in this scene she's talking about her heart belonging to herself " They're going to kill me one day. Oh my god! Kudos for staying sane. They won't rest til they take everything from us I don't even know who I'm talking about lmao.

It’s not easy :P I’ll name no names, but there’s this one Chair shipper who occasionally posted long rambly essays in the Dair tag (IDK if she still does because I blocked her) and I have to completely avoid her blog for the sake of my sanity. Thankfully I’ve had the RP since last summer to help. (Dair wedding in 4 days!!!)

It breaks my heart bc a french magazine said something similar last year and then the S4 Dair arc happened it was refreshing, the characters seemed to move forward and they ruined this for what exactly ?

I think that’s one of the things that gets to me the most, you know. More than the destruction of my ship, more than the character assassination, it’s just bad writing. The thing about television I think is that you can’t ever have a set endgame, because the characters evolve a lot over the course of however many seasons it lasts. I understand the writers going with Chuck and Blair in the earlier seasons if it worked for them, but Season 3 proved they can’t write them together so they had to come up with outlandish things like people trading people for hotels. And after that, it should have been over. But no, they kept going round and round in circles, and now that they’ve finally found an interesting direction for the story to go in, they toss it to one side for more of the same. I will never understand.
